1. Type outline for "Numskull and Rabbit" essay. Use the Literary Analysis Outline PDF under the Writing Resource column to the left as a reference or open the Literary Analysis Word Document in the Digital File Cabinet (look in the Writing Resources folder) to type your outline using this document as a template.  (Upload outline to turnitin.com by Wednesday evening at 11:00. Print a copy for class.)

2. BrainPOP Semicolon Assignment - Extended until Monday, February 4 (though you can submit on Thursday 1/31)

Writing Workshop: Irony & Ambiguity in "The Tiger Who Would Be King" - Write a well-developed two-chunk paragraph that analyzes the impact of irony and ambiguity on our understanding of the text.  Integrate quotations and citations correctly while following MLA formatting.  Use the handouts under the Writing Resources column to the left of this blog to complete the assignment successfully.

1. Finish reading "Numskull and Rabbit," page 208 in the World Masterpieces textbook.

Spring Semester Welcome :-)

Happy New Year!  The Spring Semester has arrived! :-)  To returning students, welcome back to Smith's English 10 Honors.  I hope last semester was a challenging yet growing experience for you.  To all new students, welcome to the class.  This blog provides you with information regarding the daily class activities and homework assignments. 

For all students, remember that this site is a resource for YOU to help YOU make the best of your learning throughout the semester.  I will work to keep it updated daily, but please don't forget to monitor the class whiteboard agenda daily as well as maintain phone numbers/e-mails for trusted peers you might contact to keep yourself up-to-date on what's happening each and every day.
